Shape Card Challenge

Hello, I hope you had a nice weekend. Mondays mean Fantabulous Cricut Challenge. This week is to do make a shaped card rather than a square or rectangle. I have made a card in the shape of an 'E'. I have made it for my son. I have wanted to write him a little note to say that I am proud of him and all the hard work he does at school, and his other activities.

I used Plantin SchoolBook, flipped and welded the letter. I used the shadow feature and the cut the letter out normal in patterned paper and white so I can write a message. It is about 15cm tall. The paper is K&Co.

Thanks for visiting.

Swirls & Twirls

For the challenge at Cooking with Cricut to make some thing swirls and twirls I have made a little gift bag using Plantin Schoolbook. The swirl was cut from Accent Essentials. I used acetate then used liquid pearls on it. The stamp is from a Penny Black set.
I made this for a thank you gift for someone. I filled it with sweeties for her. So I made a card as well.

I am also entering this into Flaunt It Friday Challenge to make a bag or box.

Thank you for popping by...

Cricut Cardz Challenge

On Wednesday evenings my husband goes to Church to do an activity with the youth of our church,so once the kids have gone to bed I have some time to myself. Which means I end up doing two posts! Sorry about that! I have made a card for the Cricut Cardz Challenge to make a St Patrick's day card without shamrocks.
I used Create a Critter Cartridge. This is my favourite cartridge...I love it! Have you noticed?!! I cut 'Lucky' at fit to length 5" and the hat is cut at 3". The punch is Fiskers.
Last weekend I won an Ebay bid for someone who was clearing out their craft stuff and there was loads of papers in it, and these papers were there, but I don't know who they are by.

WOYWW...

...a BIG mess!!

and the card you can see is for the sketch challenge at Cardabilities.

I used Create a Critter to cut out the owl and Accent Essentials for the shape. The paper is from Colorbox.

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge

For the Fantabulous Cricut challenge to Emboss it! I have used Animal Kingdom Cartridge and cut the turtle at 2 1/2" (maybe 2 3/4"...I can't remember) and used Anita's 3d Clear Gloss for Liquid Embossing. I am not a huge fan of it, I hate having to leave it for so long to dry ( I am quite impatient!!) and I always end up with finger prints in it. And today is no exception! But I thought the little turtle needed a nice shinny shell! I also embossed the card with an embossing board from Sizzix.

ABC of Izzy...

My friends came over today to do some crafting. I wanted to make a project for the ABC challenge over at Getting Cricky, so we made word books. I made 'ABC of Izzy', my little girl. I am unsure about where the papers are from, they were just in amongst my stuff, in fact the same could be said for everything I used on this project!! It was great to spend time with my friends and teach them how to make these mini albums, we all made something, and they were all so different and lovely, I love that we started with the same basic idea, but they all turned out so differently. I wish I had taken pics of their ones to share, but I have some of the one I made

On the back pages I flipped the letters and wrote other words that describe her as well. I used Sure Cuts Alot and Plantin SchoolBook cartridge for this project.

50 LO in 50 days

Today is day 50 of the challenge I set myself...and I have finished all 50 scrapbook pages!! I really like scrapbooking, but I seem to never get round to doing it as much I would like. So I am really glad that I focused on it this past 50 days. I have a few pictures of some of my favourite ones.

My boys have gone out for the day, and my little girl is feeling poorly and is in bed, so I have a bit of time to put up a long post...sorry! I am glad I have finished my challenge, now I have to start planning my next project!

Get Funky!

This layout is for the challenge on Get Funky! to 'Show us your heart'. This is a picture of my little girl. I used the free download papers. Most of the embellishments and ribbons are Making Memories, the letters are Thickers by American Craft. I embossed the darker pink card with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Thanks for stopping by.

Emboss it Challenge

I really love embossing, my big shot is one of my favourite tools. I was quite excited at the Cooking with Cricut challenge to use embossing on a project. I have made a card using a Docraft embossing folder. I liked it on the white card, but thought it made it hard to see the embossing, which reminded me using chalk around the edges of cards. A few years ago I used to chalk the edges all the time, but haven't done it in ages. So I thought I would bust out an old technique. I quite like it. It's nice to do things again after a little while of not doing.

The Sunflowers are from Walk in my Garden cartridge, So I am also using it for my entry for Throwback Thursday challenge to use Walk in My Garden Cartridge . The stamp is from Sunbeam Stamps, which are some of my favourite stamps, they are LDS themed and really lovely!

A cup of cheer challenge

Two posts in one day! My husband had some work done yesterday at the dentist, and has been home from work today to rest, so I have spent the afternoon, quietly crafting. I had a look at the Cricut Cardz Challenge for the week, and it was to use an image of a cup.

So I thought, as I have done it, I might as well put it up! I made a little note card, it is 10cmx10cm. The paper is My Minds Eye, and the stamp is Personal Impressions and the ribbon is Dovecraft. I made a little envelope to go with it.

I love summer. It is my favourite time of year. This picture is of my baby girl last summer...she is so sweet!

The paper is Colorbox, the flowers are Papermania, brads Papermania and Basic Grey. The title is from Create a Critter. I love all the phrases on this cartridge, it is cut at 3". This page was inspired by the Fantabulous Cricut challenge to make something inspired by your favourite season.

Just a quick note...

I wanted to very quickly post my entry for the challenge on pink stamper. The challenge was to use black and your favourite colour/s, I have never really had a favourite colour, so I have used red as that is my favourite colour this weekend!!
I cut the hearts at 4 inches and the letters at 2 1/2 inches from George cartridge. The paper is doodlebug.

Blue, green and white challenge

Cricut Cardz Challenge is to create a Valentines card using green, blue and white only. My son has been making Valentines cards, and he had his friend over yesterday and they were making Valentines cards, and he said to me-'who is going to make me a Valentines card? Will you please mum?' He was really worried that he wasn't going to get one, so I thought this challenge was perfect colours for him, and he is my Prince Charming!!

I really liked these colours and felt inspired to use them for a layout. It is also of my son from 2008. I really love these colours with the photos

Tuesday, 8 February 2011

At Easter time I decorate branches with eggs and flowers, and at Halloween I decorate them with spiders, bats and cobweb, and I thought that maybe this year I would decorate them with hearts and love for Valentines. Over at Fantabulous Cricut the challenge for the week is Share the Love, which gave the push I needed to get this project started!

I have hidden it in my store cupboard on top of the freezer so my kids can't see it, so I can decorate the house with hearts and things and it will be a nice surprise for them. I love making things special for them, I think that's what makes memories for kids.

I used Doddlecharm & Create a Critter cartridges. Doodlecharm is perfect for this sort of thing because of the charm feature. I cut them all at different sizes and embossed them with a couple of different folders. The tied them on with white ribbon. I added the flowers and the hearts on stickers and some tissue paper in the vase.

Bee Happy!

I am so excited that spring is right around the corner! I love it when the trees start to have blossoms on them again, the evenings get lighter, and you don't need 10 layers on to do the school run! With all these spring thoughts in mind, I made this card...

The bee is from Walk in My Garden cartridge, cut at 3". The border punch is XCut, the paper is from the Papermill shop.

This card is my entry for the pink stamper challenge, which is to create some thing spring themed or something that makes you happy...
