Lasting Memories Challenge-Recycle and Reuse

Good Morning! Here is my Lasting Memories Challenge DT post, this week's challenge is to reuse or recycle something. I have done something a little different this week, I have done a wall hanging. I have used an old book to make a background and also a flower.

I used my Bind-it-all and tied it together with some ribbon. I used a sizzix die to cut out the label shape. To make the flower, I punched out about 6 flowers with a 2" flower punch, stuck them together then crumbled each layer. I added a button in the middle. I then added some crocheted ribbon and some roses.

Thanks for stopping by, I look forward to seeing how you recycle something this week!

Lasting Memories Challenge

Hello everyone, It is time for another Lasting Memories Challenge! I love doing these every week, it is really helping me get loads of scrapbooking done!! This week the challenge is to use this picture as inspiration-
I liked the brown, blue and green combination in this picture, and for my layout, I have tried to follow the composition of the picture as well. Keeping with the Father's day theme, I have used a picture of my Great-Grandfather, my Nanny's father. The card stock is Papermania, and the patterned paper and buttons are Dovecraft. The sticker and ribbon are American Crafts. This is an 8"x8" LO.

I am looking forward to seeing how you use this picture!!

Happy Birthday Rocket Card

Hello, Here is a card for the challenge over at Pink Stamper to make a birthday themed project. I have made a card using the rocket from Destinations cartridge. The paper is from a Dovecraft pack. The stamp is MPS and I added some card candies to the corners. The ric-rac is from Hobbycraft. I added some stickles to the rocket.

Me and kids have had a lovely afternoon making cards, they made cards for father's day and I made a wedding card for the Die Cuttin' Divas challenge to make a wedding card without using any hearts. Here is my card-

I used Sweathearts cartridge, the stamp is from an American Crafts wedding stamp set. I am not sure where the paper is from, I came across it yesterday when I cleaning up my papers.

Best Fishes Birthday Card!

Hello, I wanted to quickly share a card for a couple of challenges. At Cooking With Cricut the challenge was to use your favourite cartridge and favourite colour. My favourite cartridge was easy- Create a Critter-but I don't really have a favourite colour. I love bright colours, so I went with a bright card. The challenge for Birthday Sundaes this week was to use embossing on a card, I have used two embossing folders for the water and sand, CropStop challenge is to use 2 embossing folders, the final challenge is for Paper Crafting World Stamp Challenge is a masculine project using a stamp (I have used a greeting).

I cut the bowl in acetate, you can see it better in person. The paper is from We R Memory Keepers, the ribbon is from American Crafts. The embossing folders are from Cuttlebug.

Thanks for stopping by.

Lasting Memories Punch Challenge

Hello, welcome to my Lasting Memories DT post for this week's challenge. This week the challenge is to use a punch to make a background. I found this a bit hard to begin with, I didn't think I had that many punches. But then I remembered I had some flower punches, and used a 2" flower punch to make a background. This picture was only taken yesterday of my daughter. I took her on a Mother/Daughter camp over night Friday night. We had a great time, she loves being outdoors and loved hearing the birds singing in the morning. I loved this picture of her I took when we were having a walk in the woods on Saturday morning just the 2 of us.

I punched out 12 flowers and embossed them with a dotty folder. I used the punch out to make on of the rows of flowers. I think the fabric flowers are from Papermania, I have had them both for so long! The frame is from Making Memories.

I was a bit unsure about this challenge at first, and had no real idea of how to do it, but I really like the finished page and the effect! I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with for this challenge!

Thursday, 9 June 2011

Hello, how are you? I have had a busy week-as usual!! But this evening I have made a couple of cards for a few challenges. The first is for Cricut Cardz Challenge, which is a wedding theme-

I used Sweethearts cartridge. I took a 5 1/2" square card made from acetate. I  cut the heart out at 5" in the patterned paper and grey card, and stuck one on the front and the grey inside the card. The paper is doodlebug. The stamp is from an American Crafts set.

The second card is for a couple of challenges-

The patterned paper is from an American Craft pack, the cupcake is from Doodlecharms cartridge, the stamp is MPS.
This card is for -
My Pink Stamper-Colour challenge-orange, green and turquoise
Birthday Sundaes- Anything goes
Throwback Thursday- Bling (and a lite cartridge, but I don't have any so I just used an old cartridge)

Challenge me Monday.

Happy Monday! This week the challenge at Fantabulous Cricut #1 Dad. Here is my card-

I cut out the letters from George in patterned paper and the shadow green card. The vouchers are digi stamps from Whimsie Doodles , I printed them out quite big on green paper. I cut out an envelope from Sweethearts cartridge and attached it to the front of the card behind the patterned paper so the vouchers could go in there.

I am looking forward to seeing what creations you come up with for your Dads!!

Getting Scrappy Challenge-Use a Stamp.

Hello, I quickly wanted to share my LO for the Getting Scrappy Challenge to use a stamp on a layout. I really like using stamps on LO, particularly sentiments. On this page I have used We R Memory Keepers paper, and the stamp I have used is from an American Crafts set. I love this set of baby stamps, they are so cute! I added a little button to the word. The buttons and ribbon were just bits and pieces I had in my stash. I used Create a Critter to cut out the owl, I thought he matched the feel of these papers, and I used George to cut out the title. I then embossed it with a heart embossing folder.

Crafter's Companions and other Challenges...

Good Morning! I have a sore throat today, so have stayed in this morning catching up on a few challenges. My children both have coughs so they have been taking it easy this morning as well.

The first card I have is for the Crafter's Companion challenge 'Here comes Summer'. I used the new Humphrey's Corner CD-ROM. I love it!! I have also ordered the stamps, but they haven't arrived yet. I LOVE Humphrey's Corner, I have wanted some craft stuff to come out for so long! I was so excited when it was released last week!!. For this challenge I thought about summer colours, and I think pink and yellow together are so summery.

This is an A5 card, I used an Xcut boarder punch, and the stamp is from a Penny Black set, I used a Viva Decor pearl pen to make the flourish and finished it off with some roses.

The next card is for Cupcake Craft Challenge, this was a colour challenge to use yellow, green, orange and white-

To make this card I took a 5 1/2" x 9" piece of orange card and scored it at 2", 4", 5 1/2", 7" and 8". The folded it, to make the steps. The acetate is 5 1/2" x 11" folded in half, then stuck on the front and back of the base. All the flowers and animals are cut from one sheet of We R Memory Keepers 12" x 12". I love these cute little animals.

And finally I have a card for the Ooh La La Challenge-Happy Birthday-

I used the Humphrey CD-ROM again for this card. I also used an embossing folder and another stamp from the Penny Black set.

Now I am going to go back to laundry and housework, and my son wants to make a Father's day card so I think we will be doing that after lunch...
