Lasting Memories Sketch Challenge

I can't believe it's Wednesday already!! We have been decorating our bathroom and the time has just flown by! On Wednesday evenings, my husband runs a youth activity at our church, so I have spent some time doing the Lasting Memories Sketch Challenge.

This picture was taken on Monday. We meet my sister and her son, and went to a museum called Milestones. It has a Victorian and a 1930s streets. You can go into the shops and workshops and have a look around. It was really good, we all enjoyed it. There was also a bit where you could get dressed up. My sister took this picture of us beside a tram. I also got some replica Victorian items, and I have used some of these on this LO, I have used some advertising imagery.
I have used some crochet ribbon, and some buttons. The paper and the brad are from K&Co. I used Making Memories Rub on letters for the title. I also used a flourish stamp and added it a few times on the page.

Thanks for stopping by.

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge- Mum's the word!

Happy Monday! It is a Bank Holiday here, we are meeting my sister and her son for a picnic today. I am really excited!!

But before we leave I have my Fantabulous Cricut Challenge post. For this week the challenge is to use the word 'Mom' on a project. I have used 'Mum' because that's what I call my Mum. I made her this word book using Plantin School book and Design Studio. I used photos from when we were small for my Mum. The quality isn't great for the photos, they are quite old!

I am looking forward to seeing what you do for this challenge just link your 'mom, mommy, mother, or mum' projects at Fantabulous Cricut!

Sunbeam Sunday Challenge

Happy Easter Weekend!! We have had a lovely day together. I wanted to share something I made for the Sunbeam Sunday Challenge, this week the challenge was to use something old to make something new. I used some card from a Pampers box.

I had wanted to bind it with my Bind-it-All, but the card was too thick, so instead I made holes with the Big Bite, and used rings. I put some white card in it. The paper is We R Memory Keepers. I coloured the stamps with chalks.

Thanks for stopping by, and hope you have a lovely Easter!

Easter Layout

Hello! This week has gone so quickly. I haven't had much time this week to make things because of the school holidays, I usually have some time during the day when my baby sleeps, but this week I have had a four year old to entertain while she has been sleeping! This morning however, he has been playing quietly so I had some time to do a LO-

I cut the letters from the Hannah Montana cartridge, both fonts. I also used Plantin Schoolbook to cut out the tag, which fits behind the picture. I stuck the picture with foam tape so it makes it easier to pull the tag out. I just need to write a little about the pictures. This is from last Easter. Ethan & I were making all sorts of yummy Easter treats!! He loves helping in the kitchen. I also used a date stamp on a ticket. The buttons were from a Smirk Christmas collection. I tied paper ribbon at the bottom, and the paper is We R Memory Keepers. As this is a picture of my son, I didn't put too many bits and bobs on it, I think for boys' LOs it often looks best simple.

This is for 3 challenges-
Lasting Memories- Easter
Cooking with Cricut- Easter
Getting Scrappy Challenge-Fun with Food

Hello, a quick post as I have some much to do this evening. But I wanted to share a card I made for my best friend's birthday. She is coming to visit me tomorrow and it is her birthday this week. So I hope she doesn't look here tonight!!

The paper is My Mind's Eye. The stamps are MPS and Penny Smith and the mushroom is one from a free set on a magazine. I coloured it with Promarkers and cosmic shimmer, but it hasn't picked it up in the picture. I stamped the 'BFF' with Stazon on ribbon and made a little tag. I am entering it into Birthday Sundaes anything goes challenge.

Sunbeam Sunday and a Challenge

The Simple Sunday challenge at Getting Cricky last Sunday was I'll Sing You A Song. I have been thinking about what I could do, Then I came across this stamp with the lyrics from As Sisters in Zion. This is one of my favourite hymns and it sums up how I feel about being a member of Relief Society (the organisation in our church for the women)
The words of the hymn are:

As sisters, in Zion, we'll all work together;
The blessings of God on our labours we'll seek.
We'll build up his kingdom with earnest endeavor;
We'll comfort the weary and strengthen the weak.

The errand of angels is given to women;
And this is a gift that, as sisters, we claim:
To do whatsoever is gentle and human,
To cheer and to bless in humanity's name.

How vast is our purpose, how broad is our mission,
If we but fulfill it in spirit and deed.
Oh, naught but the Spirit's divinest tuition
Can give us the wisdom to truly succeed.

I love the message of this hymn, and it gives me something to work towards, to be help those around me.

I used Winter Wonderland to cut out the circle and the scalloped circle. The stamp is Sunbeam Stamps, and the paper is My Mind's Eye, and a few odd buttons, and ribbon. The circle dangles, it is not stuck down.

Thanks for visiting.

I made them with Sweethearts cartridge.

Lasting Memories Journaling Challenge

I you are looking for the Fantabulous Cricut Crawl and giveaway click here

I had a great time looking at all projects the very talented DT had done for the Crawl yesterday! I feel very inspired! I am now looking forward to going through everyone that joins in now.

Here is a LO I did for the Lasting Memories Journaling challenge. I do struggle with journalling, I (like most people I think) really don't like my own writing, and I often find it hard to sum up in words what photos mean to me, especially if I scrapbooking a picture that I have just chosen because I think it's cute! I never type up journalling either. But as this was a challenge, I thought I would challenge myself to try journalling I had printed-

I cut out a flower from a sheet of patterned paper and stuck a little button in the middle.

The paper and the letter stickers are Basic Grey, the scalloped card is Papermania. The rest of the bits were just bits and pieces I had.

My verdict on typed journaling-I like the finished result, but it was a bit of a hassle. When I am doing a LO, I just grab the bits I want to include, ribbon I like, buttons I think will work, and then see where it all takes me. I never really have a plan. So when I typed up the journaling, I had it in a few different shapes and sizes, because I didn't know where it was going to be. I suppose I could have done it at the end. And as much as I hate my own handwriting, I hope that in years to come it will be a link to me for my children and grandchildren. So I think I will defiantly do more journaling on the computer, but I don't think it will be very often!

Thank you for visiting.

Sunbeam Sunday

What a beautiful Sunday we have had today. My family spent the afternoon at the Portchester Castle. It is so beautiful there, right by the sea and lots of grass. We love going there!

Happy Saturday!

Good Morning, it is a beautiful day already here. We have a busy day today. My kids are going to their cousin's birthday party, my son is going to the theatre with his aunty this afternoon to see 'The Tiger Who Came To Tea', and we have all the usually Saturday jobs to do. So I go up early this morning and had a look at the Pink Stamper blog hop and the challenge, to make Anything Birthday, which was perfect for me because I hadn't made Declan's birthday card for the party today!

I think it was a bit too early for me this morning! This was my second attempt, I started to make a card with a cut from the Cars cartridge, but I got so annoyed with it I had to bin it! It just wasn't working!! So I went to my 'go-to' cartridge when all else fails-Create a Critter!!

It is 13.5cm square card, the paper is from We R Memory Keepers, so is the eyelet. I did dash lines with a green Stardust pen from Sakura, the stamp is MPS from Friends & Family.

Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday cards for Aunty Zoe!

Today is my sister-in-law's birthday and after school my son wanted to make her a card. He had a very specific idea of what he wanted, he told me it had to have a bunny, which needed to be yellow, and he wanted pink ribbon going along the bottom, and he wanted to use my Cricut pens. I took a few photos to share with you-
He is only 4 and he knows just how to use my Cricut! I didn't need to do anything apart from change the pen and the blade over.
He calls this my flipper, and he insists on using it everytime! Here is taking off the flowers and an oval he cut from George.
Here is Izzy wanting to have a go-it's very tempting all those buttons!!
After he cut out all his bits, he cut some paper 14.5cmx20.5cm
Here is the all important pink ribbon!
And the finished card-and my very cute and proud boy!!

I also made a card for my Sister-in-law. I was also going to do a rabbit, but then I had a look at the Flaunt it Friday challenge, to use a sheep cut, I have used the sheep that is on From My Kitchen.
The paper is K&Co. The ribbon is Dovecraft. I used a Penny Black stamp. The tag is from Making Memories. I am not sure it is as good as Ethan's card, but I hope she likes it all the same!!

WOYWW 96

Hello, it's Wednesday again so it's time to have a peek at my messy craft area...I was working on a LO this morning for Lasting Memories Layout Challenge, and I didn't want to waste time cleaning up, so I ended up on the floor. So here's what my floor looks like today!!
This is the finish LO

This is for the Lasting Memories Spring Challenge.I used Papermania paper. The flowers are Papermania and Prima, the letters are from American Crafts and Making Memories. I cut the flourish from Sweethearts Cartridge. I love this picture of my little girl playing in our Aunt's garden.

I had better go clear up my floor, and then I'm off to have a look around your craft areas on this beautiful WOYWW.

An evening of crafting...

Hello, this evening I have been making some cards for a couple of challenges. First, I did a card for Getting Cricky Challenge Inspired Hearts, for this challenge we were asked to create something inspired by what inspires our hearts. I thought this was a really touching topic. I thought about the things that are important to me, and things that move me, and I think some of the most important things in this life are kindness and charity . What lifts and inspires my heart is the kindness of others.

I used K&Co paper, Sweetheart Cartridge for the heart, the stamp is from Sunbeam Stamps.
The next card I did this evening is for a couple of challenges-
Birthday Sundaes-Anything goes (so long as it's birthday)
Die Cuttin' Divas-Sketch challenge
CCCC-Use From My Kitchen

Thanks for stopping by.

FCCB Challenge- April Showers.

Good Morning, and Happy Monday, which means it's Challenge Me Monday over at Fantabulous Cricut. This week's challenge it to create a project using an umbrella or hat. I have used the umbrella from Create a Critter. I wanted to make a wall hanging using these pictures of my son playing in the rain a couple of years ago. I used a quote by Joseph B Wirthlin which I find really uplifting, 'Come what may, and Love it'. I think these pictures of my boy playing in the rain are a great example of finding the best in something.

I took an A4 piece of chipboard and covered it with We R Memory Keepers paper. I took 3 photos of different sizes and matted them on green paper. I cut out the umbrellas in 3 sizes and flipped the 2 smaller ones. I took a length of wire and wrapped it around an embossing tool, then punched 2 holes in the top, put eyelets in and put the wire through them, then tied some ribbon on it. I decorated it with some bits and stamped 'fun' from a MPS set. I printed the quote and matted that also.

Make sure you check out what the other great projects at Fantabulous Cricut!!
